**About the Art**
In Baja California there is a certain peace and untouched-ness to the wilderness. Confluence depicts a mirage at the end of a golden brick road, beyond the massive cardons, further than the forest of Dr. Seussian boojums, and hidden behind the coastal fog. I wanted the desert floor to feel like a glowing microchip, conducting energy and sending signals across its grid – much like nature does. Here, beneath the milky way, the desert floor is alive, and communicates the needs of the injured cardons. They stand tall, like gatekeepers, glowing in their glory repaired in the art of kintsugi. Original completed with alcohol markers and acrylics on matting board.
