** About the Print **

"Nyūbu Shugyō" depicts Mount Humphreys and the San Francisco Peaks of Flagstaff, AZ. On the eastern side of town, the mountain opens her embrace and reveals a fantasy world. Nyūbu Shugyō is the japanese practice of paying reverance and respects to the mountains. The San Francisco Peaks are a sacred place for the Navajo and represents a pillar of sacred land in the Southwest. It is indeed a sacred place. These mountains offer me much strength and resolve to strive for better. Even when low, the mountain doesn't care; it will carry you up with your own strength and then reward you with breathtaking views. I wanted to honor these peaks by capturing their purple majesty. And, of course, Flag is a dark sky city, so the stars are bonkers. Enjoy!
