** About the Print **
Over the Purple Pass comes from my 33rd birthday when I went campingin the Grand Tetons for two weeks. I had been to the Tetons three times before that, but this time I really set up shop and went after some long-distance hikes. The Purple pass is Paintbrush Divide, the saddle between Paintbrush Canyon and Cascade Canyon. It was a really special place. The glacier there remains all year round and offers exquisite views and a connection with mountain that is elusive. Like many of my hiking adventures, I had had no original plan to go all the way to the divide and onto the other side. Wow am I glad that I did. I'd never hiked anything quite like this. I was so excited and stoked that on my return from a 22+ mile go, I could be seen with a grin from ear to ear.
Over the Purple Pass is a commemoration of that time. It was an emerald amythyst kind of experience, if you know what I mean.
